Getting Your Point Across
by Gwen at RAG Social
There is a lot of noise out there at the moment about do’s and don’ts in the world of social media.
We are seeing videos from people telling us not to use social media so much, do this, do that, don’t do this, don’t do that……. yet, where are they all bleeting about it? — yup…. on social media! Go figure!
People seem to be very confused about the difference between ‘STOP’ using social media and get yourself a strategy in place to stop yourself from getting distracted and spending too much unnecessary time on social media. There is a HUGE difference! #justsaying.
The ‘not understanding’ the difference is causing confusion across the board.
We all know that promoting yourself on video and being more visible, is in vogue, but please please try to get your message right. YES get your point across but think before you speak!
That might sound harsh, it’s not meant to be.
You have a successful business and many years of experience, now is the time for you to expand and increase your presence on the social scene.
You might not really understand exactly where you should be and what platform will best suit your skills for what you have to offer. There are many things to think about before you launch into the world of being all things social.
I can’t emphasise enough the importance of having that strategy in place! It keeps you focused. Keeps you on track. Avoids shiny object syndrome! Above all else, it is good for business and makes great business sense!
You do need to allocate yourself time to ‘scroll’ — how else are you going to engage with your audience and grow! Remember the 80/20 rule? It is not all about you, you, you.
Also, you need to think about your ideal client/customer — stop being distracted with people you don’t need. They will only suck up your valuable time slot!
Be strict with yourself ~ discipline and focus are key! STRATEGY is the most important ingredient to make your recipe work!
Remember you are unique and individual and as such, you should treat your business like that. Remember this is your journey. Be yourself and focus all the way!
Social media is a strong tool and you have it all at your fingertips!
When you pick up a newspaper (when was the last time?) you skim through and read only the paragraphs that float your boat!
Keep being social and if you are feeling overwhelmed with everything, come and talk to me!
I am not going to tell you to stop using social media just find that strategy that frees you up and gives you some much needed precious time back in your life.
Chat real soon folks.
Keep enjoying what you do.
Keep safe.
Much love,
